***My Literal Heartbreak***
I listen to the steady rhyme
Of the grandfather clock,
As it strikes twelve
And afterwards is the steady tick-tock
Paired with the sheeting rain
And a steady beat,
I’m slowly growing insane
And falling from my feet
You’re watching
As I drown in my bloody tears,
And laughing
While I’m eaten alive by my undying fears.
Sweating acid,
Breathing water,
What you never did
Made my anger burn hotter.
Oceans of pain,
Floods of sorrow.
I’m thinking again
That I won’t see the Sun tomorrow.
At first you taunted me with cries,
Cries of glee.
Now you shield your eyes
From the rotting thing that is me.
Now my life is dead and dry,
I have nothing left,
I’m about to cry,
Because you’re the mastermind behind my heart’s theft.
You stare in shock
As I fall from my ache
Frozen like a rock;
You’ve just witnessed my literal heartbreak.
*(I wrote this about a guy who snapped my heart in two. Too bad he's just some beech)*
